How we’ll raise $10,000 for A-Time?
Here is a short answer and a thought that might inspire you to help us reach our goal!
A story is told about the Taz who once wrote a kameya for a yid that needed a yeshuah. But the Taz gave him this kameya under one condition - that he never open it. Of course, the yid agreed to the terms, took it, and saw countless miracles. Word spread about the “wonder kameya,” and all around the world, people were trying to get their hands on this it. This went on for many years, and the kameya continued to be a source of berachah for anyone who layed hands on it. After the Taz passed away, a mekubal in Yerushalayim decided that if he opened it up and saw the shaimos that were used, he could replicate it and sell many similar kameyos for a large profit. But when he opened, the text he found was not what he had imagined, instead he found this:
“In the zechus that I was learning Tosfos Meseches Chulin 42: this shall be a shemira and help to anyone who holds this.”
It was not a mystical potion but the zechus of Torah that served as the source of berachah.
This story is not the only one of its kind. Stories about the power of Limud Torah are plentiful.
Surely, then, you aren’t wondering why we undertook to join the Shas-a-Thon.
But what is the significance of the dapim of Meseches Nidah?
Nidah, for most couples, is something they’ll go through not many times in the first few years. On the other hand, a couple that struggles with infertility has the stress of going through it every few weeks! For days, months, and years, these couples sit in a lonely home together, and for a lot of that time, they can’t even have physical contact. The mental, emotional, and physical strain of nidah can be difficult. Try to imagine going through it constantly!
With this thought, we teamed up together to learn this special limud in Meseches Nidah and dedicate the koach hatorah to all couples going through hardships with infertility. In the zechus of learning the halachos, it shall be as if they have actually gone through it, as it says, “V’talmud Torah k’neged kulam” “V’nshalma Parim Sifasienu”.
We ask you, dear friend, please look around and realize that not everyone with children b‘‘h, had an easy time having them. There are so many couples going through hardships and treatments just so that one day, they may have children, be’’h. So please join us in supporting a special cause and take part and in helping us reach our goal. Then, sit back and watch the Holiest Kameyal in the world do its wonders!
